December as the month of the holiday season will be fulfilled with visits of many outstanding foreign celebrities. The inhabitants and guests of Rezekne will be delighted with a concert of the world famous a Capella music group „The Real Group” (Sweden), as well as the performance of the talented Swedish trombonist Nils Landgren and Latvian Radio Big Band, and the concert of the new star of the Swing Era from Germany - Alice Francis.
On December 3rd at 18.00, at the Embassy of Latgale GORS will perform the masters of vocal music from Sweden. The music group in it’s existence of more than 30 years has performed in more than 2000 concerts and has released many dozens of different music records. As their only instrument using the voice, „The Real Group” has created an unique music, that keeps the balance between jazz, pop music and choir music of the Northern Europe. Their repertoire combines their own compositions, as well as the interpretations of the popular music. 2015 was the year when as the part of „The Real Group” Latvian Jānis Strazdiņš. On December 17th at 19.00, with a delightful pre-holiday season concert "Funky Christmas" on the stage of the Embassy of Latgale GORS will perform an outstanding musician, trombonist Nils Landgren and Latvian Radio Big Band. The words said by Nils Landgren – “Music knows no borders. Music is freedom.” In 2002, the musician has received a prestigious Tore Ehrling prize for the input in the popularization of the jazz music all around the world. The musician has been an artistic leader of the Berlin Jazz Festival. He has released nine solo music albums and ten albums together with his music band „Nils Landgren Funk Unit”.
The last visit of the Latvian Radio Big Band at the Embassy of Latgale GORS was in November 2014 – when they performed an absolutely amazing, highly rated concert program „Mare Balticum” together with the world-famous trombonist James Morrison.
